Attention Actors! Announcing a return engagement of the IFC's Actors Showcase on
Wednesday, November 19th - 7:30pm, in the downstairs theatre of the Westport Coffeehouse!
Want to participate? Beginning this Wednesday, October 22, a sign-up sheet will be passed around at the IFC meeting, and will be each week until all time slots are filled. You can also sign up by emailing: ccpingpoint@aim.com. Sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis. There are a limited number of time slots available, so early entries are recommended. Actors will need to prepare a monologue (2 minutes or less) to be performed on camera for our audience and guest panelists, Heather Laird,(Wright/Laird Casting), Brian Cutler (Commercial Actors Studio), and we are excited to announce an addition to our panel, Joel Feigenbaum (writer-producer-director of over 300 hours of network televison series and movies) - who will redirect and provide feedback specific to your on-camera acting.
This is a wonderful opportunity for actors to show off their talents and get valuable insight from notable local industry professionals. It is also a great opportunity for local filmmakers to view some of the local acting pool. This is one of our most well-attended events. Pass the word!

November 26th – No Meeting
It’s the day before Thanksgiving. Drive safe!

December 3rd – It’s the return of the IFC’s 3/5/7 Contest.
Any film, any Genre. Three categories: Three Minutes, Five Minutes, or Seven Minutes.

This year’s 3/5/7 will be held inside the Westport Coffee House.

December 10th – TBA

DECEMBER 15TH – 21ST – ALL EVENTS AT JUST OFF BROADWAY THEATRE

December 17th – Green Screen Seminar
The IFC will set up a Green Screen and Bobby Thompson will discuss the best ways to light a GS, as well as editing techniques and tips. We may even show the end result on Saturday!

December 19th – Steve Balderson’s “Watch Out”
The “Stop Turning Me On Tour” makes its first appearance in Kansas City. Steve is another great friend of the IFC and will be in attendance at this screening. Nominated for “Best International Feature” at the Raindance Film Festival, “Watch Out” is getting rave reviews.

"FOUR STARS. This is not a nice movie for nice people. Its undefinable and a frightening piece of work. It’s what indie movies should be all about.”
Eric Campos, Film Threat

"Genre-defying! Against the grain! Outrageous! Overtly addresses the issues of... human sexuality, mental health and behavior... consistently pushes the barrier of your comfort levels.”
K. Rittinghouse, ICON Magazine

December 20th – IFCKC’s “Every Picture Tells a Story” Film Contest
Local Filmmakers meet up with Local Artists. Regardless of their medium: paints, photography, sculpture, comic books, etc; Filmmakers capture the story behind the art, or the artist. Maybe they even create a fictional story inspired by the art.

This is a great event for the Art Scene and the Film Scene in Kansas City to merge. Deadline for EPTAS is December 17th.

DECEMBER 15TH – 21ST – ALL EVENTS AT JUST OFF BROADWAY THEATRE
