Kansas-native Steve Balderson is gearing up for the newest feature movie he will direct titled, Watch Out. Male and female roles are being cast and there are crew positions to be filled. Contact Steve at:films@dikenga.com. Shoot dates are scheduled for this spring and the location will be around Wamego, Ks.

KCStage magazine, the best resource for performing arts information in Kansas City, is holding a contest for high school and college students to create a commercial for them. Entries are due March 31. Go towww.KCStage.com for information. It is a great way for aspiring crew and actors to become involved and hone their craft.

2sDay Productions was casting in Kansas City for their short video project based on the concept of individual and spiritual transformation. They were looking for individuals with talents such as singing, writing, teaching and others.

Kansas City’s Denny Dey is in production of his documentary, The Haunting of St. Mary’s. The story revolves around the history of St. Mary’s Church in Kansas City.

“Bad Blood: The Border War that Triggered the Civil War” took top honors in the category of “Program Production: History/Large Market”, as announced by the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA). This was a co-production of KCPT public television and Wide Awake Films, both of Kansas City. The production took more than two years to create and utilized more than 200 actors.

Patrick Rea, Lawrence, Ks., has wrapped his newest movie, Paint Shaker. Shoot dates were in late January.
